Kidapawan Bloggers’ Readers’ reacts about dogs being killed in the City
Just crossed Kidapawan Bloggers Shout Box…
Justine Leon requested for a campaign to stop the dogs killing in Kidapawan, North Cotabato using gas chambers. According to him, “This is not right, dogs suffered for 10 to 12 minutes. You can hear their moans and struggling when you’re around. This not the proper way to kill them because their have rabies, besides not all dogs have.”
“There are some other ways to kill them painless (euthanasia) such as lethal injections Studies show that almost 100 dogs are killed in Kidapawan everyday. I’m hoping that you can do this for the benefits of the homeless dogs there.”
But, then Sai reacts on Justin’s comment, “Pardon me but I would just like to react. Choosing between lethal injection over gas chamber?…hmmm… I think resorting to lethal injection would be more cruel. You see in lethal injection, one of the components that is being injected into the dogs is Potassium Chloride (KCl).”
“Normally, it is a solution that is being given to patients (humans) who are dehydrated or have loss a great amount of fluid in their bodies maybe from diarrhea or any case of hypovolemia. It balances the electrolyte concentration in the body kasi. But the thing with KCl is that it can really kill in large doses. It attacks the heart and it produces a very painful sensation in the chest and with this effect this component is credited for in lethal injection. “
“On the other hand, gas chambers are less brutal because what happens is that the dogs that are put in these chambers do not have to go through pain. They just breathe-in the Carbon Monoxide (main compound for this) and let it take their lives away. It is also considered as a form of euthanasia but not as brutal based on being human is concerned compared to lethal injection. “
“So I guess what they are currently doing .is the right thing. But I understand your plight because I myself is a dog enthusiast. In fact, I own a lot of them. But this is for the greater good.”
It is comforting to know that Kidapawan Bloggers became a publishing medium for reactions to clear issues and concerns! Cheers!
