Kidapawan Bloggers and Web Developers 1st Organizational Meeting

The organizational meeting of Kidapawan Bloggers was held last Nov. 9, 2008 at Kits Kamayan, Osmeña Drive, Kidapawan City. The heavy rain that day, even the brownout, could not stop the said event to become a success.
I came at 1pm, an hour earlier than the expected meeting, in order to talk with the organizers.
Amidst the rain, there was a sudden brownout of which we were unprepared for.
The place, even at daytime was a bit dark due to the heavy rain outside. We were quite prepared to accept the fact that maybe there will be very few participants, if not none at all, due to the rain and brownout. In case the brownout will continue, we already have alternatives. Luckily our prayers were heard in time because the power came back at around 2pm. We hurriedly arranged the tables, set up the projectors and the likes. By 2:20pm we were ready to start the event.
There were 10 participants only when we started. But as we progressed with the program, more people arrived.
Hosted by Mr. Vernie Barsanas. Of course a prayer signaled the start of the program.
Afterwards, Kidapawanbloggers.com was official launched by Mr. Noel Degamo. He also elaborated on the objectives, goals, terms, conditions, as well as benefits of the kidapawanbloggers.com.
An overview of blogging was also given by Bro. Vince Celeste. He even gave the participants tips on how to start and set up a blog.
After two very important topics, I was the next in line to give my talk on my experiences on my blogging. Although it was not my first time to give a speech, I was nonetheless a bit nervous when I started my talk. But as I progress and felt that the audience was receptive to my talk, I became more comfortable and at ease.
Snacks were served after my speech consisting of a very tasty spaghetti and soft drinks to match it.
When we had finished with the very hearty snacks, there was a presentation of different websites maintained by Kidapawaneños. It was there that I realized how numerous those websites are, and how varied in subject, content and style.
A journalist by profession Mr. Caloy Bautista was the next speaker after wards. He talked about the importance of blogging to express oneself or one’s views and not solely to impress. Hence he underlined the importance of a good foundation in writing in preparing for a blog. He then shared with us his plans to conduct a writing workshop for the bloggers. I myself intend to attend the said workshop in order to hone further my writing skills.
The website developers were the next in the program. Sir Clint Hasan mentioned about the virtual corporation. This, he said, is the future of business: a cashless on line transaction of business. Followed by Mr. John Pagaduan and Mr. Camilo Andi.
The event proved to be a success. Even on its infancy stage, kidapawanbloggers.com has proven itself as something to be looked up to.
With Bro. Vince, Sir clint and Sir andy, we went to the house of Sir Noel in sandawa to have our dinner. I felt really lucky to be in the company of such important yet unassuming people.
Like me, I am very sure, many are looking forward for the next event the kidapawanbloggers.com will host again.
In behalf of the organizers, I would like to thank Mr. Caloy Bautista, Kitz Kamayan, NDKC, CFCST, CdK, DCIT Network, tianggeportal.com, Gillamacs and Kidapawan Exchange.
To all the participants, Thank you so much!
God bless… ‘Til next time!
